Douglas R. McLeod (Instructor)

I started my martial arts journey back in 1984, when I walked into a Taekwondo studio in Edmonton, Alberta. I attended classes for almost a full year, training as a visitor with an associate. Relocating to Southern Alberta to further my education marked the start of my break from martial arts. It wasn’t until my life slowed down many years later that I was able to continue my journey.

I trained with the Western Martial Art Academy for 5 years, gaining my unarmed, dagger, and long sword distinctions. It was at a Filipino Martial Arts demonstration, that I met my instructor, Guro Herald Casana, and joined Pekiti Tirsia Kali. I have been under PTK for 5 years and have accomplished Mataas na Guro (Senior Instructor) status from Grand Tuhon Leo T. Gaje.

This is a lifetime commitment, and I believe this is my true calling in the world of martial arts. Once a student, always a student.
